What are the COVID precautions in this space?

There are many in place and they will always be in place, despite surrounding precautions shifting or disappearing. Masks are always required, and there is a HEPA 13 air filter running at all times in the studio. I open the windows once a day for further cross-breeze and air turnover, and I have KN 95 masks if you happen to forget yours. I strongly encourage proof of vaccination to book an appointment, and if you are unable to get vaccinated, we can have a conversation about other ways to reduce risk factors and a safety/consent agreement. The rest of the building does not require masks, but I have only run into one person in the halls— it is a very quiet space and there is lots of airflow through the rest of the space. Unfortunately I cannot increase the safety in those areas, so I do what I can where I can, and will be transparent about the rest.

What does the building’s physical access look like?

There are no stairs leading up to the building, and there are two driveway ramps near the front entrance. This is an old building with 4 flights of stairs, as well as an elevator. If you note that you would like to use the elevator in your booking notes, I will meet you at the front door and operate the elevator to get us up to the 4th floor. There are flat metal plates that I can place between the elevator floor and the building floor, if an extra smooth ramp is helpful. So far, all mobility devices have been able to navigate the threshold with ease. The elevator is large enough to turn many circles in a wheelchair, as well as the bathrooms. The elevator holds 4000 lbs. There are two gender-neutral ADA-accessible bathrooms on all floors of the building except for the ground floor. My studio is one door away from the bathrooms on the 4th floor.

What does the studio’s physical access look like?

There are many seating options upon entering, like benches, rainbow chairs, a step-box with 3 height options, and the option to stand. It is as scent-free as possible, aside from the soap and cleaning chemicals I am require by law to use during a tattoo procedure. I usually have music on but am happy to change it, pause it, or let your connect your phone to the Bluetooth speaker. The table I use to tattoo is made by Best Massage and is weight-rated up to 450 lbs. The step-box can be used to get onto the table, and the height of the table is adjustable as well. There are head and arm bolsters that can be added to the table to make it longer or wider, and I have multiple pillow options for the tattooing session. There are overhead lights that can be turned off for a less bright experience, and I use a spotlight on the area that I am tattooing.

What are the prices?

BASE PRICES: I charge $100 an hour for any flash designs, which are pieces that I have already drawn. You can find them by clicking on these words and you are welcome to contact me if you would like to make edits to them. I charge +$10 an hour for medium to large edits, such as adding color, changing larger elements, etc. Custom pieces are usually $140 per hour, but could be more if the piece is incredibly detailed. I am happy to have a quick consult for larger piece discussions, and there is an appointment slot for 30 minutes where we can talk about your project idea.

SLIDING SCALE: The range for flash is $80-140, $100-140 for customs, and you may make a note of your preferred hourly rate in the “notes” section at the end of the appointment form. You may consider $80/hr if you experience work scarcity due to racism, transphobia, ableism, or other oppression. You may consider a mid-range rate if you have a stable job, have some disposable income, and do not have high medical bills. You may consider the highest rate if you have a high-paying job, are white and cis, and/or if you are able-bodied and do not have to experience daily oppression.

I cannot stop you from doing so the day of, but I do ask that you give me as much warning as you can. The deposit that you pay when you book your appointment is non-refundable, as it holds your spot and pays me for my time as I prepare for your appointment. I understand that life is unexpected and I do my best to have compassion for emergencies, while maintaining appropriate boundaries for me to make a living. Please communicate with me about anything that comes up, and I am usually happy to make something work for the both of us.
